The excitement I feel for FPA Retreat is similar to the excitement of going to summer camp. It’s a time to reconnect and spend time with some of your best friends and make lifelong new friends while there. It’s an atmosphere for abundant deep conversations and learning from your peers. It’s all about building your “tribe” (as Elizabeth Jetton would put it); about growing together as a profession; about asking questions and sharing wisdom; about challenging one another to be the best we can be; about making connections.
I’ve been in the profession for five-and-a-half years and have been a CFP® professional for almost four years. I love the deep passion of the attendees at this event. Being able to share a conversation with some of the pioneers of our profession is inspirational. Meeting new planners like myself and learning what their path in this profession has looked like and what their goals and aspirations are is invigorating. And everyone in between on the experience scale is just as passionate and vibrant about the profession and willing to share. This event is one I hope to never miss (this will be my fourth Retreat in a row!).
The speaker sessions are thoughtfully designed to make the most of your time spent in the audience. The Under the Trees sessions are strategically placed to encourage further discussion and knowledge sharing. The social time is creatively planned to incorporate all attendees, encourage laughter and build community. And it’s a heck of a lot of fun!
I have been so fortunate to be on the FPA Retreat Task Force. I can’t wait to see you or meet you this year at the Hilton La Jolla!
